Track and Field is my passion. I love to run long distance.
I have worked hard this year to improve my 400M time, but the 800M is my race.
I dream of being the best that I can possibly be in the 800M. I have lots of potential to grow.
I come from a very small school (1A) Meek High in Arley, AL. I am in a K-12 School that has a very limited Track & Field program. We practice our races one time after school and that is the extent of our training with our coach. We have only 4 - 5 meets prior to the State Championship and yet, I can keep up with the best in my division. I really look forward to learning from an exceptional program and improve on the talent God blessed me with. I currently hold 4 Winston County Track Records in the 400M, 800M, 4X400M and 4X800M Relays. I have been the Winston County MVP two years in a row (2014 & 2015).
I currently, just within the last few weeks have worked together with my School Principal (Marla Murrah) to add Cross Country to our athletic programs at my High School. I am very excited to be running Cross Country my Senior Year! Ready to see where this new avenue can take me. I am happy to have helped in adding Cross Country to our High School Track Team, so that others within my school may be able to participate in this sport - for years to come! I think adding Cross Country will strengthen the talent we have, on a whole new level!! Even though I am running as an individual and have no school practice, (I am the only Female XC Runner at Meek High School) I ran a 25:08.3 during the (Fairview Invitational- Fairview, AL). I finished in the Top 34% and was pretty happy with that, for only being my 3rd Cross Country meet ever! I am gaining momentum on my times , and adding more mileage under my feet. I recently ran the Jesse Owens Classic in Danville, AL and ran the 5K in the (1A-3A division) with a 24:21.68. I also just ran the Northwest Alabama Championship XC Meet in Oakville, AL and I finished 84th out of 230 runners with a finish of 24:01.17. I am improving every race and hitting my personal best each time! Looking forward to the next few meets ahead and Outdoor Track this spring!
Academic wise, I have no problems with maintaining a good GPA. I currently have a 3.8/4.0. I have a 23 on my ACT and I am taking it again to improve my score until I reach my personal goal. I do not see any issues I would have with a college academic program. I am looking to work with an exceptional program at a College that will help me excel in my sport so I may live my dream of being the best runner in the country!
