I have practically grown up on the tennis court. My mom would drive me every afternoon to practice that was an hour commute. My parents decided before my freshman year in high school to purchase a home closer to the tennis courts. They knew that this passion for the game was not faltering and that living closer would be easier on everyone. For the most part, I practice every afternoon, from 5:00 to 7:30. Once I was old enough to work, I began teaching the children's class at my academy. In high school, thus far, I have played the #1 singles position my freshman and sophomore year. My sophomore year I was undefeated with a season ending 17/0. I played on my high school tennis team daily, leaving that practice to continue my work with my academy. I play USTA junior tournaments as often as my parents can afford. They have given up quite a bit to make my dreams come true and I could never repay them. I believe that is why I play as hard as I do so that they feel the sacrifices have not been in vain. My goal is to play on a college team while obtaining a degree. Then I dream of playing at the professional level, but even if that dream is not attained, I will have my degree and will feel that I have fulfilled my goal.
