Eugenia Camacho '16 Recruiting Profile

I know what I want academically and athletically.  I want to study medicine because I want to help people and save  lives. I am very clear with  what I want to achieve in tennis. I know U.S. culture because I have lived there and I want the opportunity to study in the U.S. system. I am willing to do anything to get to the maximum possible level in tennis. Throughout my junior years, I had the opportunity to be number 1 in my region in USTA in 10's and national champion in my country for several years. I was also Central American champion. I train non-stop all year, every day, several times a day because I believe and hope that I can someday compete with the best in the world and get positive results. Despite all that, I don't believe in sport without education.I believe and work hard in the academic part because I consider being number 1, means number 1 in everything including academics. I am loyal and want to train and play hard for a college that can help me fulfill my academic goals but at the same time I want to be able to continue  training and improving my tennis as much as possible, and be able to play at the highest level available in college tennis, hopefully the top of Division 1.  I have traveled since I was little and by myself since I was 11 to play tennis in other countries. This exposure has allowed me to see the needs of people and their limited access to medicine and medical services. I believe everyone should have the opportunity for medical science to help  them and I hope to be someday  part of that. I have been  national champion in 2010,2011, 2012, 2013 in Costa Rica.
