Jana Motie '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'6'' senior tennis player from Melbourne, Florida. I have been playing tennis for 12 years and I have experience playing USTA. I made it to the top 55 in Florida but my ranking soon fell due to pending family issues. However, I am still training to keep up my abilities and it is my dream to play in college. I have started on the varsity tennis team for 5 years and earned third in state for my high school as well as second in doubles in the individual draw at state with my twin sister. I have a 4.3 weighted GPA. I realized I have started this recruiting process late, but I still want to pursue playing competitive athletics. Ideally, I would like to be at a large to medium sized school located, preferably on the east coast. However, I am open to exploring schools on the west coast as well as the institutions in between. Financial assistance is important to me in the college selection process as my family will have high need. I would be willing to travel farther to a school with less out of pocket expense. I am very interested in the medical field and I would like to major in neuroscience or biomedical engineering. I am open to exploring all divisions. I would like to play on the team as a freshman as well as at the highest competition level possible.
