Currently I have an ITF rank of 2128 and attend the IMG Tennis Academy in Florida. I have had the privilege of playing tennis throughout my life, whilst living in Switzerland, Portugal, Australia, England and the United States, each country having its own impact on my game. Ironically, being sidelined by a traumatic ACL injury to my knee whilst playing the Regional finals in the UK may have had the biggest influence on me, not only as a player but also as a person. Being told that I wouldn’t be picking up a racket for at least a year was heartbreaking. However, I learned the value of patience, commitment, dedication and sacrifice. These indispensable skills, which I have developed throughout my playing career, will not only allow me to excel through college tennis but throughout my life.
I have had an athletic mentality throughout my life, playing rugby, running track, playing soccer and field hockey. When I was 12, I was the only girl to be selected to represent the State of Victoria in Australia for rugby to play in a boys’ National Championship. 131 boys were at the Trials and I made it into the team. Learning co-operation and leadership skills whilst playing team sports throughout my life, I believe will majorly benefit the college tennis team environment. I am looking for a program that will help me athletically as well as academically as they go hand in hand in developing student athletes. My unique and diverse experiences coupled with my commitment and passion for the game will make a lasting impression on your team.
