Madeline Eccher '14 Recruiting Profile

Over the years, I've developed new dreams, goals and aspirations, and one of those dreams is to be in the Summer Olympics in 2016.  Ever since I saw Missy Franklin win her gold medals in swimming, I realized that if she can do it for swimming, I can do it for tennis. When I was young, I tried many sports, but tennis was the only one that stuck with me; it was the first sport I really loved.  Not everyone around me is as serious about tennis as I am, so in this past year especially I've pushed myself to limits I had no idea I would ever reach.  I'm always looking for challenges to beat, hurdles to overcome, and to improve more and more over time.  I'm very competitive and determined to win.  I want to be on a Division II team because I want more opportunities to play.  Aside from tennis, design has allowed me to express myself in different ways.  I've always had a passion for fashion!  Academically, I have dreams of succeeding in the fashion and makeup industry and to develop my own line of clothing, cosmetics, etc.
