Shelby Gilles '12 Recruiting Profile

My Name Is Shelby Gilles and I Am 5' 11" and 140 lbs. I am from Colorado and I find that having trained and competed at high altitude helps my speed and over all game when at lower elevations. I Currently Have one doubles state championship individually from this past year (2011)  and our team won as well. I played junior varsity for two years my freshman year at #2 singles and sophmore year as #1 singles. Our junior varsity played varsity teams in Colorado Springs while the varsity headed up to denver for harder competition, So even though My first two years in high school were spent on junior varsity we varsity lettered along with the varsity team. I am hard working on and off the court. I find it very important to train doing other exercises to improve my footwork and agility.  As far as College goes it has been a dream of mine to play in college and I am very much so looking forward to it. I would like to find a college in Michigan or there about because I have family out there, I am also considering California but areas around both of those states are also large possibilities because there are so many good schools out there. I would like to go to a bigger college, not huge but not too small, I am exploring the option of going to a religious school (Christian) in a suburban town or bigger city, prefferably not too far out in the country. I have yet to decide what I would like to study but hopefully I will be able to narrow it down soon. I am just looking for the opportunity to play college Tennis I would love to play as a freshman and I would love to be apart of a team while in college. Thank you for reading my profile!
