Hi! I'm Daniela Adamczyk and I'm from Colorado Springs, Colorado. I would really love to play Division Two tennis because my academics are really important to me, but my sport is important as well. I have not been able to play as much as I would have liked the past two years due to a back injury (a bulging disc), but I worked really hard over the past year and am working on playing higher level tournaments to improve my ranking. I feel that I am a very hard worker, and that I can achieve anything I set my mind to. As a major, I would really like to go into either Chemistry or Biology. At this point, I think I would like to become a pharmacist, but I am considering all other medical fields as well. I am very interested in nutrition because I have a lot of allergies and have to live a very specific lifestyle when it comes to what I eat, and as a tennis player I am a bit of a health nut. I love to look at books about nutrition and cook for myself, but I also really enjoy genetics and any sort of cell biology.
During my freshman year I was going through a really hard time and had to deal with a few deaths within my family, and it really shows in my grades. However, since then I have dramatically improved my grades, though it doesn't show in my cumulative GPA. From freshman year to my junior year, I have gone from around a 2.6 GPA to a 3.8 (weighted). I have a copy of my transcript on this page that shows my grades from freshman to junior year. I have struggled with math the past few years, but I found a tutor that worked with me all of last year and over the summer and I am doing much better in my math class this year.
