Karianne Sretavan '14 Recruiting Profile

In the near future, I would like to attend medical school in either Canada or the United States. My dream is to become a doctor and specialize in ophthalmology at a hospital or in private practice. My passion is to become a positive influence in the people around me whether it is in a significant or minor way. When someone asks me why I want to become a doctor, my answer is simple. I want to help people receive the best care I can give. If that means working with a patient who is critically ill, I will do all I can do to enable him or her to live a meaningful life. If it means doing years of research in order to discover new cures for diseases, I will, without hesitation, do so. I know I have resilience and tenacity, which I believe, will shine through both in the classroom and on the tennis court.

For these reasons, I aspire to be part of a competitive Division II or III school with strong academics to help me pursue a career in medicine. What I enjoy the most about tennis is doubles. I would like to improve my doubles game as I am always eager to learn more and play to the best of my ability. Although I have only been playing competitively for two and a half years, I hope that my maturity off court will compensate for the lack of experience I have on court.
