Hello, My name is Alivia Farber. I started swimming in baby classes and made the leap to Club swim in 1st grade. I've been swimming successfully year round since. Improving my times every season. My first State cut was in the 50 back. Immediately, I wanted more, because I LOVE to race and compete.
In third grade, my Mom's breast cancer had a huge impact on me. I realized at a young age how life is short, and how I need to make the most of the skills I have, and the opportunities I'm given. I learned how mentally strong I am from that experience. I work hard with no regrets and a positive attitude, and it helps me accomplish great things in school and the pool . I've learned about the importance of perseverance also; when the times I'm working hard for, don't happen. I reflect on my practices, and competitive season, and make changes to improve. I never quit trying. Being a fountain full of energy and positivity for my team is what I strive for. A positive team culture is key to having success in the pool. Team is everything to me.
I have completed two years of high school varsity swimming and it was a great experience with great team spirit and amazing competition. I aspire to be a captain of my high school team senior year, and also to continue my swimming career throughout college. Although swimming is very important in my life, education is also a top priority. It's important to me that I am a good student; I give my all in school. I am working towards becoming a member of National Honor Society this year by keeping my grades and GPA high, along with scoring good on the ACT.
I love to work hard and push myself and my teammates each and every day of practice with a positive attitude. I am looking for a school that has a great academic program and an equally great swim team with an inclusive positive culture. I would love to get a chance to swim at the highest level possible, be on the traveling team, and contribute by scoring at Conference meets and beyond. I want to make a positive impact for my team, teammates and coaches.
I am interested in Exercise Science/ Kinesiology , Coaching, OT/PT, and Nutrition for a major/ minor in college. I am open to any and all colleges and swim programs.
Thank you,
Alivia Farber
