My name is Madeline Farrell although I mostly go by Maddie. I'm 17 years old, a junior at Waukesha South High School, I am 5'3 and 130 lbs. People would describe me as hard working, a timely person and outgoing. I love to have fun and make people laugh.
My high school swim team won state this year for the first time in history. One of the reasons I believe we had such success this past season is how hard everyone worked and we came together as a team. We were all extremely dedicated towards the same goal of being state champions. If I get the idea in my head to do something I go for it. I push myself in everything I do and have high standards not only in school but also in sports. I am a leader and I will be a captain of my high school team for my senior year. I am looking forward to the challenge.
I do not have a specific geographic area that I want to go to school in. I live in Wisconsin so I don't mind the cold.
I am looking for a medium sized school but I do not have a preference as to what division. As long as I fall in love with the school and the swim team, division level does not matter to me. Religious affiliation will not be a deciding factor in my choice of where I go to school. I would prefer to have both a men's and women's swimming program but if the school is the right fit for me, it will not influence my decision.
I am undecided on a major but I do have specific areas that interest me. Veterinary science, geriatrics, architecture, and interior design to name a few. KInd of all over the board!
My athletic goals are to participate on a team oriented swim program. My past high school season has taught me the importance of being a team. I would like to swim as a freshman and be on a team that has fun but also is hard working. I want to have a good relationship with my coaches as well, and feel that I can rely on them and that they will respect everyone on the team whether they are a full ride athlete or a walk on. I want to be on a team that recongnizes what a team is and all have the same goals in mind to succeed and support one another. I am also looking for a program that will help me excell in swimming and make the best out of this experience.
