I am in search of a college that will appreciate my work ethic, focus, leadership, competitiveness and sportsmanship. I enjoy being part of a team and working to be the best student athlete possible.
Swimming has been part of my life for over nine years. Over the last two years, I have grown over 10” (and I’m still growing); My swim times continue to drop, and I feel the sky’s the limit as I get stronger and refine my technique with the right coach. I am looking forward to an amazing Senior High School season along with a great season with club swimming in the winter, spring and summer.
I have loved to swim the breaststroke and have been a state qualifier for several years. The last three high school seasons, I have swam the 100 breaststroke at sectionals and qualified for state my sophomore and junior years. I placed 15th my sophomore year and improved to 8th this year. I have also qualified for other events, such as the 500 freestyle (Club and High School) and the 400 individual medley (Club).
In addition to swimming, I enjoy running. I ran cross country until High School (both sports are fall sports and I chose swimming) and have competed in local trail races and a completed a half marathon when I was 13. I also like to downhill ski, rock climb, bike and have been learning to log roll.
In school, I have excellent grades (3.92 out of 4.0) and am in AP and honors courses. I am involved in many clubs and organizations: Spanish Club, French Club, High School Ministry, and I am an officer in FBLA and DECA. I was chosen to be a student Mentor for the incoming freshmen for next year. I have also been invited to be initiated in National Honor Society this year. While in club swimming I was invited to attend a leadership seminar and was also just nominated to take part in a high school athletic leadership seminar. I also traveled to Costa Rica my freshman year with Spanish club to improve my Spanish and volunteer to help families in need. I volunteer for Ironman Wisconsin, other local races, and for local charities like the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
When I was 15, I started working at a local Italian Restaurant and have trained and mentored new employees. I also babysit quite a lot for families around my town. I’ve gotten pretty good at managing my time with everything going on in my life.
Finally, I am certain that my best swimming performances and times are still to come as I continue to grow, develop and dedicate myself to realize my full potential in swimming.
