I've been in the water all my life; my parents called me a water baby because of how much time I spent in the pool. My grandfather was an All-American swimmer at Southern Methodist University so I have always been encouraged to be a competitive swimmer. I began swimming on a club team at the age of eight. I was immediately placed on the varsity team as a freshman on my high school team and I was chosen captain as a junior. I take immense pride in my status as the leader of my team and the progress and achievements I have made over the years. I love to have fun with my team but I do know when it is time to buckle down and train hard. My main goal is to simply become the best swimmer I can be, whether that means a trip to the Olympics, the NCAA Championships, or simply getting my absolute personal best time. While I do hope to continue my swimming career in college, I also strive to educate myself at a higher level in a field that will allow me to help people around the world. I am a very hard working, passionate, positive, and enthusiastic athlete as well as a friendly, caring, and fun-loving person. I would be a great addition to any team in both the athletic and social aspects.
