In June 2016 I had my first experience in racing at the Provincial level. I had worked really hard to qualify. I swam my 200 fly and it turned out to be the worst race of my life. From this experience I have learned to take failure as a chance to learn from my mistakes and work even harder. I have been swimming competitively since I was 12 and it has taught me many things about myself. It shows me that I'm more mentally and physically stronger then I ever thought, as well as it teaches me dedication and discipline. I have not yet decided on a career path but plan to leave College with a high degree of knowledge in what I choose, as my academics are just as important as my swimming. Participating in sports and community involvement has influenced who I am today. Some of my current involvements are coaching the younger children who are just starting out with swimming, One Run for Breast Cancer, United Way and many volunteer positions at my school. I know I'd be a great student athlete for your team and look forward to seeing the different colleges and what they have to offer. As a Canadian student I'm excited to start my new journey in the USA.
