My goal is to be a well-rounded student athlete. As a student I am seeking an education that will more perfectly form my mind, body and soul. I wish to pursue a degree in elementary education so that I may create a strong foundation for young students.
As a swimmer, I am rather competitive and a bit gritty. When I am at practice, I am there to work and get better. Moreover, I want to help my teammates improve by my example and words of encouragement.
I live in a rural area where my high school must share a six lane pool with two other teams. Our practice time is frequently limited to one and half hours, four days a week. I cite this not to make an excuse, but to stress that I do not believe I have reached my full potential as a swimmer. With the right college program, I sincerely believe that I have a huge upside as a swimmer.
Ideally, I would like to attend a conservative Catholic school where I can contribute to the success of my team while pursuing my vocation as an elementary school teacher.
