Personal Statement

It was the second triathlon I had ever competed in. I was 11 and trying to cross the bike course during the adult triathlon. I was told it was okay to cross and I was hit by a male competitor. After being checked out, I was told I was okay. A little sore and bruised, but okay. I did not let that slow me down and I went on to win my age group in that triathlon. It is because of swimming that I learned to be mentally tough, to push through those painful sets that make you feel like you want to die, and to never give up.

I am a very competitive person and I believe that helps me to keep improving and doing better  I love the team atmosphere, even the silly fun stuff, and the motivation I also get from the other swimmers on the team. I am always looking for ways to improve and I want to be part of a program that I can make a contribution to  I work hard but having a little fun along the way is nice also! I am looking for a program that will challenge me athletically and academically and I believe that I will make a great addition to that program!

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • 2015 MW Short Course Championships
  • 3/20/15 to 3/22/15
  • This was a tough meet for me. I was diagnosed with the flu 3 days prior to this meet. I did swim all three days. I did not have any personal best times, but I did swim within 3 seconds of most of my personal best times. I also did make it back for finals in the 200 Breast and improved my place by 2 from prelims.
  • Camp/Event
  • Nebraska State High School Championships
  • 2/27/15 to 2/28/15
  • In prelims on Friday I swam a 1:56.66 in my 200 free and a 5:19.50 in my 500 Free. For finals on Saturday I went a 1:54.81 in my 200, which would i would have tied four 4th in the finals heat, and a 5:12.74 in my 500. I swam an all time personal best in my 200 free and .3 tenths off my personal best in the 500. I also swam the 200 and 400 free relays on both days.
  • Camp/Event
  • Metro's Conference Meet
  • 2/13/15 to 2/14/15
  • It was a good meet, but it was a hard meet! I did not shave or taper or wear a speed suit (per the coach). I still swam a season best in the 200 IM and right as my season best in the 100 Fly. In prelims I swam a 2:18.6 in the IM and finals I swam a 2:15.54. In the 100 fly I swam a 1:02.32 in prelims and a 1:01.50 in finals.
  • Camp/Event
  • 2014 CSC Jim Devine Memoria Invite
  • 11/14/14 to 11/16/14
  • I had personal best times in the 100 Breast and 200 Breast. My 200 breast time is 2 seconds off the sectionals cut for my region and most of my other times were right at my best times. We did not do a full taper for this meet so I am happy with where my times are at for this time of the season. 200 IM: 2:15.07, 500 free: 5:19.79, 200 Free: 1:59.67,100 Breast: 1:13.81, 200 Back: 2:15.57, 200 Breast 2:35.33, 100 Free: 56.05, 100 Back: 102.90.
