Two goals I have worked towards since I can remember are to pursue a career in the medical field and swim at the collegiate level.
Although my primary stroke is butterfly, I have pushed myself to swim all events, including IM. I feel this would allow my team to utilize me where it is most beneficial and have the most impact.
The last couple years have been limited in the amount of events I have been able to post times for due to a pinched nerve in my shoulder. I missed most of the short course season in 2014 and high school season for 2014-2015 was tough since I returned after recovering from the shoulder issue and we were cautious on how many events to swim. Short course season for 2015 and high school season for 2015-2016 was also tough, but I am determined to overcome the issues that I have been dealing with and look to perform with personal bests in multiple events for the long course season this summer and moving forward into my last year of short course and high school swim. I am working both inside the pool and outside doing triathlons, personal training and nutrition to be the best I can be and bring everything I can to my final year.
I believe I would be an excellent addition to a team because I am a proven leader; younger kids look up to me and I enjoy helping them learn both in school and at the pool. I am a team player and take being a part of a team seriously and personally. I encourage others to do their best and support them at their worst.
I feel I am a loyal and dedicated person not only in school, but in swimming and anything else I participate in. I give 110% in everything I do. I am goal oriented and work to achieve my goals in every way possible. I believe people can rely on me and I enjoy knowing I can help people. I work hard in swimming and school and at times, sacrifice personal fun so I can obtain what I set out to accomplish for my future.
