My name is Alice Foote. As you can see from my profile, I have a passion for swimming. You've read about my achievements in sports, now I want to share with you a little bit more about me.
In high school, I have enjoyed participating in sports, musicals and choir. I love hanging out with friends and making people laugh. During the summer, I volunteer at a camp for children that have a family member serving our country in the military. What started out as something to do with my camp friends turned into an important life lesson. I have met incredible kids that have shared with me what their lives are like outside of camp. I remember coming home after my first year of counseling and feeling like I had seen a completely different world. That experience has led me to what my other passion is, helping people. I hope to pursue a career in the military through ROTC and obtaining a major in social work/psychology so that I can be able to help people and families in the military that may have mental health issues.
I am from a military family and have seen the great things that can come out of that career choice but also have seen what the effects of a wartime experience can mean for soldiers and their families. I hope to be an asset to others in this area.
