Morgan has been committed to swimming since she first earned some competitive success in seventh grade. She started swimming year round after her first high school season. She was the only girl on her team to achieve a MISCA cut which she achieved at her first high school meet. Although she swam her best coming in second in the 500 free at her SEC meet, she did not make it to the state meet. This only served to solidify her resolve. Her sophomore year she got her cut and swam in the 500 at states, junior year she got her cuts earlier and achieved her cuts in the 500, and 200 free. Morgan dropped over 10 seconds in her 500, at the state prelims. She made finals. Morgan came back to the finals and repeated her time to place 14th in the 500. Morgan is not done yet. Her hope is to achieve a sectionals time in 2013 and to place in the 200 and the 500 in her senior year state meet for Dexter High School. Morgan has been honored by her Coach, Cory Bergen, every year with a class award. Coach Bergen has consistently praised her dedication to her sport, the level of committment she displays and her dogged persuit of excellence. She would be a great addition to any team looking for an athlete who can swim fast, practice hard everyday and display the honor and courage it takes to motivate herself and her teammates.
