Personal Statement

As student athlete, I aspire to become a well-rounded individual and I feel that by competing at a collegiate level in the sport that I have dedicated my life to for the past six years will be a valuable step in this process. I adore the sport of swimming and cannot possibly imagine spending the deemed "best years of my life" in college without being a part of a team and pushing myself to be the best I can be in the pool and in the classroom.  I have a drive to win and I am constantly aiming to improve myself. I do not settle for mediocrity and I do everything in my ability to strive in both the academic and athletic sphere. I enjoy learning and genuinely value my education, and my 4.08 GPA can testify for this. Balancing rigorous academics with the taxing schedule of a swimmer (three hour practices, six days a week plus weight training) has become habit for me, and I look forward to the challenges that being a collegiate student athlete will pose. The team atmosphere created in the pool both with my high school team at Chippewa Valley and especially with my club team, the Great Lakes Tritons, has presented itself as a safe haven where I find myself the happiest. I truly value the camaraderie that is a team. The opportunities that swimming in college presents--from scholarships to travel meets to lifelong friendships and more--are incomparable to anything else and I look forward to the countless memories that will be made through that experience.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
