Ever since I was little, I have always had a passion for swimming. I began my swimming journey when I was six years old. My younger sister and I were put into swim lessons, and we always were swimming around the instructor when she was trying to help the other children. I did not like waiting for the instructor at the side of the pool so my parents decided to put us into a local swim team. It was one of the best decisions my parents ever made. After six years, we decided to switch teams to enable us to compete in USA swim meets. Eventually my freshman year of high school crept around and I found myself on the varsity team. I quickly found out that high school was very different from club. My freshman year was a struggle and unfortunately I was the only one on our varsity team who didn't make it to regionals or state. As much as it agonized me, I wouldn't take it back for the world. That barrier was just the push I needed to work harder and improve myself. Now I am ecstatic to say that this year not only did my team win our regionals, but I was able to be part of two record breaking relays.
I hope to continue my journey at a four year college and push myself to new limits. I hope to find a school where I can contribute my passion, and find a new place to call home.
