Personal Statement
I would love to have the oppotunity to study and compete in America as part of a competitive swim team. My current school in England has one of the most successful swim teams in the country and in September I have the honour of being girls team captain during my last year at school.
I have loved swimming since the age of 3, inspired by my older sister and wanting to join in the fun. As I have got older the hours have got more demanding but I have managed to combine my swimming with my studies and achieved top grades in my GCSE's. My A-level studies are going well and I am predicted A grades in Psychology and Physical Education and a B grade in German.
I am typically a sprinter and my times have improved steadiy over my time at Millfield School. In August I am competing in the UK Nationals in 50m free, 50m fly and 50m backstroke . This is the focus of our season. My converted fly PB of 25.66 secs and backstroke of 27.67 secs augurs well for the Nationals. Having such a strong swim team means that we have very fast relay teams and I especially love the being part of this high charged environment and always bring out the best in me.
My coach wrote this in my end of year report, "Tabitha has had a great year within the squad. Tabitha has represented the county and performed with distinction at the county and regional championships. It has been a pleasure watching you grow into a fine young lady over the course of this year, well done".
My head of sixth form says " As we all know Taby is a delightful young lady who is mature, supportive and always gives her best".
I am proud that these highly respected staff are happy to write about me like this.
