I have been swimming competitively since I was 5 years old, and one of my main goals since I began swimming was to be able to swim on a college team. I love everything about being on a team such as working together, pushing one another, striving for the same goals, and having fun in the process of doing so. Another goal I have is to hopefully make it to nationals with my team in college.
I would be a good candidate for your team because I will push myself above and beyond what is needed so that my team and I will succeed. I am different from the other recruits because I will bring enthusiasm to every practice and try to make it fun for everyone. I am a very positive person and believe that everyone can achieve their personal goals if they work hard enough. I will encourage everyone to try their hardest at both practice and meets. I also adapt easily to different coaching styles as well. I have had several coaches with different coaching styles over the years during my club and high school swimming career. They all have had a positive and important impact on my swimming. I respect their advice and critiques and apply them to my swimming.
As for my athletics, I practice every single day of the week except on Sunday and do double practices 2-3 days a week, including dry land before practice. My athletic achievements include qualifying for high school state, Speedo Sectionals, Senior Championships, and I also have broken every individual girls swimming record at my school. My academics differ from other recruits because I work just as hard at my school studies as I do in the pool. I have maintained a GPA of 3.7 or higher my whole life. I also am in both Honor and AP classes. Although my athletic and academics are a big part of my life, I do make room to have a social life with both my swimming and school friends. I also make room to volunteer in my community because I think that helping out my city and the people that live in it is a very important thing to do. This is why I would be a good candidate for your team.
