2014 HighlightsPersonal Statement
I cannot remember when swimming was not part of my life. I began swimming when I was four years old. I started competing when I was seven. It was more of a hobby at this age, but when I turned nine, I started taking swim to the next level. My freshman year I helped my team win the Idaho state title for the first time for my school. Only four of us contributed points; I won the 50 and 100 freestyle for my team. My sophomore year we took third at state when only two of us contributed points.
It is my goal to swim for a college. I believe that my times and attitude will get me there. I won the Idaho state title in the 50 and 100 freestyle both my freshman and sophomore year. I hope to one day hold the Idaho state record in both the 50 and 100 freestyle. I currently have a 23.96 in the 50 freestyle and the record is a 23.59.
Not only do I work hard in the pool, but I also work very hard at my academics. I am taking as many Pre AP/AP/Honors classes as I can this year. I am an National Honors Society Member, the vice president of Model United Nations, and the captain of my swim team.
