Dear Prospective Coach,
As a swimmer for the past seven years, I have truly learned what it means to be dedicated to a sport. Swimming caught my eye when I watched a classmate at her swim meet. I had been a gymnast, runner and when I saw swimming I asked my parents if I could give it a try. Shortly after I fell in love with the sport.
Swimming has been a large factor in helping me manage my time and kept me on track in my academics. In the classroom I take rigorous courses to challenge me and this is the same approach I take in the pool. As a competitive swimmer I have learned that there is no room for slacking. I have strong time management skills and I have learned to get everything out of every moment. I have also learned to have trust in my coaches
During my junior year my high school team was not a very deep team, however with only 5 girls going to FHSAA State 3-A, we were able to come in 7th overall. Our relays (200 medley and 400 free) came in 6th and 5th respectively. I personally was thrilled to have gone in ranked 23rd and finished 10th and 22nd in 200 IM and finished 12th in the State. Every swim for me that day was a personal best.
I look forward to continuing my swimming career with a team in college. My main attributes are my work ethic, my desire to do better and better, never giving up and strong organization. I love to be challenged and look forward to my senior year and all the possibilities in front of me.
