March 2016Personal Statement
I have been competitively swimming at a club level for about 10 years now. During those years I have had my ups and downs, particularly when I was striving to make my senior national time cut. After struggling for a while I finally achieved my goal. During that time I kept positive and trained hard continously. When I got the time I learned that it is more about the process of achieving the time rather then the time itself.
I believe I am a positive leader both in and out of the pool, setting a positive example for team mates. I can effectively balance being a multi sport athlete while continuing to stay focused on academics. My focus hard work and Perseverance is what sets me apart from my competitors.
