Andrea Derflinger '10 Recruiting Profile

My name is Andrea Derflinger and I've been swimming competitively for 12 years. In the past I've swam for North Baltimore Aquatic Club, Green Terror Aquatic Club, Brophy East Swim Team, and I currently swim for the Anthem Dolphins. I am 5'7, 135 pounds and my best events are the 100 fly (1:00.17 yards, 1:09 long course), 200 fly (2:13.30 yards, 2:31.93 long course), 200 IM (2:17 yards), and 400 IM (4:45.8 yards). This year I am Co-Captain of the girls high school swim team. Last year we took 1st at Regionals and 3rd at States. We took first at regionals this year as well and 9th at States. On my previous swim teams I swam 2 and half to 4 hours a day, 6 days a week, with an intense dry land as well. About a year ago I had to switch to a local club team due to travel time, and my work outs were cut to 2 hours a day, 5 days a week, with no dry land or weight lifting. I am really looking forward to getting back on track with a more intense practice schedule and more challenging coaching situation. My goal is to swim in college, and I'm definitely interested in colleges on the west coast. However, I am open to any region of the country.
