Whether it is the sound of a ball brushing on a net, or the wind blowing over my face as I sprint across a field, I have always known I was meant to play soccer. Every time the initial whistle blows, I feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins ready to pounce on any opportunity given to me. I have played this way beginning to end with no falter. When it comes to my love for soccer it is complete heart and soul. I play it because I feel as if I belong, no human influences this belonging except myself. I have been playing soccer for 14 years of my life and have never stopped. Within these 14 years I have only played 2 years of club, 2015-2016. I have had girls going off to play college soccer look at me as if I was a big dreamer with no foundation. What soccer player could be good without playing club? I believe in the most humble manner possible that if you have a natural talent you can achieve anything. I participate in a multitude of athletics that derive from my natural athleticism. I use this athleticism to almost always be the fastest player on the field and never falter with my endurance. Playing strictly with my school soccer program has also been a big learning experience. It has taught me to be extremely loyal to my team and give them my full time and commitment. I have learned to bond with these players every day at school and within practice and discovered what it meant to be a true team. There is a struggle with strictly playing school soccer programs. The natural ability is scarce, especially when attending small private schools. But this obstacle only caused me to become stronger within myself and as a team. It made us all work harder to get better and be able to put up a fight in every game.
When I joined club it was so I would be able to play year round soccer. I also joined because I knew it would give me the chance to play with better players and improve my game. As a player I am not afraid to be the worst on a team. I find that by being the worst you learn the most. I believe this because I am an excellent visual learner. If I see a player doing something beneficial in a game I will take it into account and coordinate it into my own game. By playing club I was able learn from every player I played with or against and it has made me grown so much more as a player.
With the assistance of my academics, natural ability, and desire to always learn, I believe I would pose as an excellent player for any team. I am always willing to make myself uncomfortable to be able to evolve into a player that is constantly improving. I look forward to every aspect of my soccer career no matter where it takes me.
