My name is Hannah Mitchell and I am a three sport athlete. I participate in soccer (school/club), basketball, and track. I have been playing club soccer for seven years and rec soccer for three years before that. I have been on the varsity soccer team at my high school since my freshman year and have started every game since the second game of my freshman year. The thing that sets me apart from most girls my age is that I put in the extra time. I condition after practice to get myself that extra step ahead. When my coach asks me to do something I do it. I don't argue and say I can't. If I'm not very good at a skill or job that my coach has asked me to do, I work at it until I am satisfied. I work at it until I get it right. I am very competitive and love to win but, I want to enjoy myself and make it fun.
Not only am I passionate about soccer but track is something I can see myself doing at the next level. I have been competing in track for five years and I have been a varsity track athlete since my freshman year. I went to state my freshman year in the 4x200 and 4x400, both teams placing 9th. My sophomore year I went to state in 400 meter dash. My best time of the season being 60.5. I placed 9th, missing finals by less than half a second. I am determined to make it to state my junior and senior year, placing both years, and breaking 60.0. Being apart of a team is something I absolutely love. I always try to be positive in even the worst of situations, but I do expect 100% from my teammates just as they would expect from me. In track I expect myself to break through another barrier every week because there is always someone out there doing the same thing if not more. I would love to continue my athletic career in the collegiate setting so that I can specialize in one sport.
Academics do not take second place however compared to sports. I am student athlete first and I realize how important my academics affect me for the future. I plan to go to school with a nurse and ROTC program so that I would be able to join the Air Force and serve for four years or more. Being a nurse is something that I truly want to pursue so that I'm able to help others. I would like to go into the Air Force so that I can help those who have made my life what it is today. I would love to help soldiers knowing that they are able to go back home to their families.
