Anna-Marie Merrell '13 Recruiting Profile

"Hi!" I'm Anna-Marie Merrell, currently a sophmore soccer player at Kentlake High School. I am a very agressive midfielder at 5' 7" and 135 lbs. I have always taken pride in participating in the sport of womens soccer. Growing up it was never a finacial option to play for a club team, so I challenged myself to become one of the strongest and most dedicated players, in the rec leagues of Kent Parks/KYSA. At an early age I knew that i wanted to continue to play soccer at the college level. I currently have no specific size of school in mind, just that I want to continue to play soccer. On and off the field I'm a natural leader, but at the same time a team player. On the field i strive to be my very best and push myself beyond my limits during drills and actively in games. While off the field I demonstrate great work ethic, scholastically,in several honor and AP classes. All while commited to the National Honors Society, and dedicated to my church, family, and friends. I feel that partisipating in womens soccer at the college level will have a tremendous impact on my life as a future trauma surgeon. For soccer teaches life skills that are important in the working world, such as team work, cooperation, leadership, and responsibility. Along will these skills this sport helps construct freindships that can last a life time. My goals as future college student, are to actively partisipate in school activities and to harness more skills in the popular sport of womens soccer. All while reveling in the college experience.
