I love soccer – it’s an important part of my identity, of who I am, and I can’t imagine taking the next steps in my educational future without it. I am looking for a collegiate program that strikes the perfect balance between strong athletics and excellent academics. I am currently a high school junior, playing in my 3rd year of varsity soccer for Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School in Beaumont, Texas (TAPPS Division 6A). I am also a long-term club player, now on the Albion Hurricanes 99G Blue East team, which is part of the United Soccer Championship League located in Houston, TX. I am strongest as an outside or center defender, but I can play any position in which my speed, endurance, and passing skills can be of benefit to the team. And while soccer is my passion, I have also demonstrated my athleticism in other areas, earning state-level recognition throughout my high school career in both cross-country and track. With the conditioning that running provides, I have the proven stamina to play 100% of a regulation game (and double overtime if needed), while still maintaining speed and dogged persistence on the soccer field. The area of sports medicine (physical therapy, training and conditioning, nutrition) is of particular interest to me as a future career. If your program can provide me with the opportunity to not only demonstrate and advance my performance in the sport I love but also with the education and experience I will need to aid others in their athletic endeavors, I'd definitely like to hear from you.
