December, 2014
Hello---
I'm Liz Stewart, from Sisters, Oregon, a 5'11 central defender. I have been a varsity starter for each of my four years in high school (2011/12/13/14) and was selected as team co-captain in 2012, 2013 and 2014. I was awarded 1st team all conference in 2012,2013 and 2014 and conference Player of the Year for 2012 and again this year in 2014. I was also selected All State in Oregon in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
This will be my 9th year playing for the Oregon Rush Soccer Club from Bend, Oregon--we are are now called Bend FC Timbers (since 2013, affiliated with the Portland Timbers of the MLS). For the past 18 months, I have also played for the Omega Select program based in Kansas City, Missouri under club director and head coach, Gaspard Dalexis. In 2013 and 2014, I played in several high profile showcase tournaments around the country. This past summer (2014), I was selected to play for the WPSL Treasure Coast Dynamites based in Port St. Lucie Florida, one of only 3 high school players on the roster--I started and played every minute. I have also had the opportunity to play internationally in Puerto Rico in December 2013 and in the Dominican Republic in July 2014---both times we trained and played against their national women's teams.
My best characteristics on the field are my 1v1 defending skills, overall speed, winning balls in the air, defensive clears, using both feet with power and accuracy, connecting on free kicks, and overall field leadership. As a team captain, I always look to bring our team together and most of all, to be a consistent and supportive teammate. I also play central and defensive midfielder for my high school team. I scored 14 goals and 13 goals respectively in 2012 and 2013 and 12 goals in 2014.
I have a 3.75 GPA in honors and AP programs. I am looking for a very strong academic school as well as a high quality soccer program. I am interested in pursuing a career in medicine or technology. I would like to play Division 1 college soccer, but I am very open to all soccer opportunities.
Playing soccer at a high level is a burning desire for me. I have wanted to play college soccer since I started playing in second grade.
I am very committed and willing to put in the hard work it takes to be a dedicated and important contributor to a high performing college program.
