Maggie Hoey '18 Recruiting Profile

Hello coaches! My name is Maggie Hoey and I am 16 years old, 5'2" tall, and 110 pounds. Primarily I play as a center or outside forward, but am also used as an outside mid.

I've played soccer since I was 4 years old. Originally my mother's reason for putting me on a soccer team was just to help me get out some energy, but it lead to me falling in love with the sport. I can't imagine my life without soccer now, it gives me a place to have fun and challenge myself to always work hard and apply what I've learned.

Playing this sport has taught me about some of my best qualities, on and off the field. I have a lot of speed, a strong work ethic, and aggressiveness on the field. Off the field, soccer has taught me about balance, specifically being able to maintain my academics and athletics, and it's taught me how to focus more. It's definitely helped me challenge and push myself to perform at the highest standard possible.

I have always set high standards for myself, especially in school. I normally take as many classes as I can handle at a time, the fall of this school year I was taking 2 AP,  3 honors, and one elective unit, while playing for my club soccer team (Carolina Rapids u18 Burgundy Premier) and competing for my school's cross country team (performed as our second best runner, were 1A State Runner Up).
