Hi! First, I would like to thank you for looking at my profile. My name is Sarah Meisel.
I started playing soccer when I was six, and since then it has become a huge part of my life. My GPA is a 96 and I excel in math and science. I am interested in studying engineering and playing soccer at the college level. I have been a starter on the varsity soccer team at Mechanicville High School since my sophomore year, and I have played many positions on the field including striker, stopper, and outside midfielder. I am also on my high school's varsity track team and I have accumulated three individual school records and multiple relay school records in both indoor and outdoor track. Running has kept me in great shape and has helped me excel in the outside mid position. Because of my participation and success in track, I have great endurance, stamina, and speed on the wings. Some of my other strengths on the field include corner kicks, crossing the ball, and setting up teammates for goals. I am a very coachable player and take each game and practice as an opportunity to learn and improve.
I have played on multiple soccer teams year round for several years. This past year included an indoor U18 team as well as a co-ed adult league. The adult league was very fast paced and a high level of play. This past spring I played with the Lady Mustangs U19 team. I was also a guest player on the Saratoga Wilton Soccer Club Showcase team and attended many college showcase tournaments with them. The different coaching exposure during the last year has helped me to improve my skill set to prepare me for the college game.
I work hard to achieve excellence in athletics and academics. I believe that excellence on the soccer field is directly related to a positive attitude. It is important to me to be a role model for my team by showing respect for other players, coaches and referees. I work hard during practice and I encourage my teammates to do the same. I know that practicing as a team and preparing for upcoming games will result in better play on the field as well as wins for the team. My teammates tell me that I am always smiling on the field. I have become a better player and leader on my team because I respect others and stay positive.
