Personal Statement

In 10 years I see myself helping other athletes through the hardest times of their lives, and what I plan on being in order to do that is a practicing Orthopedic Surgeon. To attain this goal I plan on majoring in Psychology and getting a minor in Anthropology, along with this I will be taking my prerequisites for medical school. As an athlete I never walked off the field regretting anything. I am a believer of leaving it all on the field, but as a freshman in High School I tore my ACL playing basketball. The things I had hoped to accomplish in my freshman year where put on hold. Because this happened it made me a different person, it made me appreciate every moment on the field and every memory that comes along with it. The injury changed my perspective on life, not only physically but mentally. It made me realize that being hurt and having an injury was not a detriment it was a asset, an asset that not many people have the privilege to say they beat. It made me love the game in a different way then I ever had before and physically it made me realize it wasn't all about my legs, it was every muscle in my body working together as one. Academically I am a strong student, but who doesn't stumble in their life, as a freshman I took sophomore level classes challenging myself and sometimes you have to adapt and improve your ways of learning, and that is what my freshman year taught me. It taught me how to learn at a faster pace and how to comprehend things faster. As a person something that I believe in is that there is no person left behind, and every thing we do in life is a team effort. During long runs or intense workouts it's all about being together and being stronger as a whole. Something that changed me forever was my knee injury, it taught me to love and to never stop working for what I love to do, and for me it will be to forever and always playing soccer.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
