Shannon Wojcik '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Shannon Wojcik and I am only 5 feet 1 inch and 105 pounds, but that does not mean that I am not the toughest player on the field. I have been on Varsity soccer with West Essex High School for two years, starting every game except for one and playing virtually every minute of every game. As a sophomore, I played left and right defense and loved every minute of it. At the end of the season of my sophomore year I was awarded an All County Honorable Mention and received All County Second Team and All Conference Second Team at the end of my junior year. This past season I opened up more as a player and ended up being a huge leader on the field as center defense. Being the oldest defender on the field at most times, I was always the one stepping up to take charge. As a young but talented team with only one senior on the roster, our record was 8-11 and we advanced to the second round of states. I am looking forward to next season when our roster for the fall will be almost exactly the same. In addition to high school soccer, I have also been playing soccer for the Parsippany Ravens since I was nine. My travel team is ranked 25th in the state of New Jersey. I am a very dedicated player and very coachable. I am a very flexible player and have played most positions on the field. I do what I am asked and set goals for myself to achieve. I am open to any opportunity to play college soccer, but would prefer to play in the surrounding states of New Jersey or on the east coast, for a medium size school. I would be honored to have any opportunity to keep playing the game I love so much.
