I have played the goalkeeper position from KG to 5th grade and then again from 8th grade to now. Over the years, the more that I've played the more soccer became more than just a sport; it became a part of who I was. The more I play and learn my love for the position and the sport in general gets stronger. I've always dreamed of playing a sport in college, whether it be volleyball, softball, or soccer. However I could never decide what I really wanted to do, because I loved them all.
My freshman year, playing varsity soccer, I finally realized I had a real talent. During one of our state champion ship games, we went into two double overtimes and penalty kicks as well. I stopped 4 out of five shots giving us a victory. After the game I had many people, like a college coach, college goalkeepers and a few others come up at tell me that I was a great keeper especially for my age. I think that's when I finally realized that I wanted to play soccer.Soccer and sports in general teach you so many life lessons, and you can apply those things to your life. My goal is to become a more well rounded individual as well as an athlete. I not only have the mindset but the perseverance and dedication as well.
