Stephanie Mullen '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Stephanie Mullen and I am a senior at Duchesne High School in St. Charles, MO. I would like to play women's soccer at a fairly high or respectable level in college. I have played club soccer for 7 years, and currently play for Lou Fusz in the Midwest Regional League (MRL). My freshman year in high school, I played on the Junior Varsity team and played a vital role in the success of our team. My sophomore year, I played on the Varsity team. I was not a starter, but when one of our senior starters became injured, I often had to step in for her and start. As a result, I felt my play on our team was a big contribution to us winning the girls Class 2 Missouri State Championship title in 2009. I am about five feet, five inches tall and weigh 130 pounds. I have average speed and play pretty aggressive. On both my club and high school teams, I work as hard as I can and like to encourage my teammates to do so as well. I am also a captain on my club team and offer leadership to my teammates. I am passionate about the sport of soccer and just simply love to play it at a competitive level. I am open to many types of schools. Of course academics is the most important part of my decision, but soccer is right behind it. I want to be able to get a good education as well as play soccer, no matter what division. I do not have a preference on the size or population of the school. I would prefer a school fairly close to home-up to 5 hours away; but I am willing to consider colleges farther away. My family would have financial needs as well. I am willing to fill out as many financial aid and/or grant applications as possible, in order to help my family out with paying tuition. I have not narrowed down a major just yet, but I am starting to consider certain academic options. My goal as an athlete would be to play competitive soccer. I want to improve and use my skills to play at a division that fits my level of play, and also help my teammates be the best that they can be. I will continue to work my hardest to define the level of play I should be at.
