Personal Statement

My name is Annika Nixon and I am a Junior at Grosse Pointe South High School. I have been playing soccer for almost 13 years and it is my passion. I started playing for Grosse Pointe Breakers, then I moved to Michigan Gators under Kevin Smiley, then I moved to St. Clair Shores Spitfires under Bill Hanagan, and now I'm back on the Michigan Gators under the coaching of Steve Corder. When Kevin Smiley was my coach I was named captain in 2011. When Bill Hanagan was my coach we took first place in about three tournaments and second place in one. Other activities I have participated in are violin, piano, and swim team. I have been playing violin for seven years. I currently play for Grosse Pointe South's Symphoney Orchestra. I played piano for eight years, but now I just play for fun. Swim team I also did for fun for about four years. I wish to play soccer when I'm in college for my school's team. Also I would like to go to a bigger school in a warm climate.
