Kayla Werthmann '12 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Kayla Werthmann.  I am the starting varsity goalkeeper for Chippewa Valley High School and for club team Michigan Nike Rush U18.  I have been a goalkeeper since I was 9 years old - I played U12 at that time.  I love soccer.  I also love school.  I am a hard worker in the classroom and on the soccer field.  I pretty much can't go a day without kicking a ball around.  I am very responsible and was named to the "Captains Club" by my high school coach and my athletic director.  The purpose of the Captains Club is to promote sportsmanship, community service, and to make sure athletes are doing what they need to do to remain eligible.  So I am the representative for the Varsity Soccer program.  I have a great relationship with my high school coach and I feel good about taking any problems or questions players on my team have to him.  My goals right now are to get good grades in high school and to hopefully be able to play college soccer at a school that has what I need as far as academics.  Currently I am looking toward becoming either a high school history teacher, a special education teacher, or maybe go into sports management.  I hope one day to be able to possibly coach high school soccer.  As far as college is concerned, I think any school with a good student to teacher ratio would be a good fit for me.  I have an IEP, so I don't want to be swallowed up by a huge school with really large class sizes.
