Amanda Faherty '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Amanda and I really want to continue my soccer experience in college because I thoroughly enjoy playing the game. I have grown up with soccer and it has turned into my favorite sport over the course of high school. I am 5'6 and weigh 140 lbs and play center midfield but also can play center defender as well. I am a hardworker and have worked my way through all levels from freshman soccer, through junior varsity soccer to my high school's varsity team to ultimately play an important role in winning the Massachusetts Division One State Championship. I never gave up even when I didn't make varsity right away and continued to work hard and improve my game to prove to my coaches that I was worthy. I would like to go to school on the East Coast because I really like this region and I cannot bear being too far away from my family. I know my mom would love for me to go to school in the New England area so she and my dad can see my games but I am open to pretty much anything on the East Coast. I am looking for a school that has a competive, attractive athletic program as well as a very strong academic program. I know I am not going to play soccer after college and want my future to be secure. I'm looking for a relatively small school that is definitely less than 10,000 people. I believe that I want to major in Psychology in college. Lastly, I would really want to play soccer in a program where I could come in a make an impact on the team!
