Laura Kelley '12 Recruiting Profile

I'm an NSCAA All-American Academic team member for the 2009/10 school year.  2010/11 was my third year on the varsity soccer team.  Our team made it to the state regional semi-finals for the first time this past year.  Our summer soccer team 2010 in PGCC's 7v7 league finished in first place even though we had middle school and high school players and were competing against high school and collegiate players.  I am a three year MPSSAA Minds in Motion athlete (GPA over 3.25) thus far.

I've been playing organized soccer since the age of three.  My strengths on the field are my set ups, give and goes, crossing shots, one touch passes, containment, and overall passing accuracy.  I have excellent speed to the ball.  I'm a self-less team player, and I communicate well verbally and nonverbally.  I can play using any aspect of my right or left foot comfortably.  I can play forward or left, center or right midfield.  Coach switched me to sweeper this year and we've shut out our opponents in the last two games.

I play summer league as well as indoor soccer with girls from my varsity team and other local girls.  I attended camp at Gettysburg College in 2008, H Soccer camp by Haroot Hakopian in 2010, and a clinic at SUNY Cortland in April 2011.  I attended Carnegie Mellon's soccer camp in July of 2011.

I also letter in swimming three years thus far and was captain of the co-ed swimming team my Junior year.  I lettered in softball my freshman year.  I work part time at Panera Bread Cafe and am studying Prostart culinary program in school.  I am a Girl Scout and have completed my Silver Award, and I plan to do a Gold Award project.  I will have completed 6 AP courses through high school.  I maintain an honor roll level GPA.  I have completed more than 600 community service hours so far in high school. 

Ideally I would like to attend a college somewhere in the mid-Atlantic area of the country, but I would be open to attending school in other regions of the country.  I am looking for a school that will challenge me academically and athletically and where I can contribute to a women's soccer program.
