Personal Statement
I am a committed, determined and resilient individual. I have developed these qualities through playing for Manchester United Girls, Liverpool Ladies Reserves and Blackburn Rovers First Team. I possess excellent interpersonal skills, which enables me to work well as part of a team although I can also work on my own initiative. I enjoy being independent and I have a lot of self motivation.
Throughout my experiences, I have developed strong leadership skills and I am not afraid of meeting new people and speaking in front of large audiences. I have done several hours of voluntary work, which included: coaching sport to primary school children, elderly people and disabled people. This opportunity allowed me to work with different groups of people and improve my confidence.
As part of a soccer team, I always keep a positive and encouraging mentality so that others around me are more likely to carry this attitude as well. I am not afraid to communicate with others or listen and take advice from them. Playing for Blackburn Rovers First Team and having played with England International Fara Williams I have quickly learnt that anything is possible with hard work and persistence. I hope to keep working on my athletic skills to become a professional athlete one day.
In the classroom I have never been naturally intelligent, which has sometimes been frustrating but has also had an impact on the student I am today. My grades are usually around a B grade but this comes with hard work and putting in a lot of extra hours. I have always wanted to do well in whatever I do, whether that be on or off the field, and having this attitude has driven me to be successful and possess the achievements I have today. The problem with society today is that individuals give up too easily and any college that considers me should know that I never give up.
