Let me start with a cliche: Soccer is my life. I mean that just as much as every other person that says that does. To any soccer player those four words aren't something you carelessly say. I've been playing soccer since I can remember. Its always been something I've enjoyed and as I've gotten older, my passion for the sport has grown immensley. I regret not getting an earlier start on soccer recruiting because this is a sport I would LOVE to play in college. And maybe even the rest of my life. Its taken me about three years to realize what position I was born to play on the field. That spot is goalkeeper. I've only played for a few short months and already I'm starting goalie on my Varsity high school team, and better than any of our past goalies. Every time practice is over I always want to stay on the field and keep working because I always see room for improvement. Especially in myself. At game time I always try to stay positive and keep focus. Particularly when we play teams who have beaten us in the past. I may not be a captain on my team, but as goal keeper I am a leader and people look to me for guidance on the field. Soccer is something I want to do or at least be involved in for the rest of my life.
In college, to keep up with my athletic tendencies, I plan to pursue Athletic Training and hopefully work for a soccer team if I cannot play. As a high school student, I am currently enrolled in the local community college and getting a head start on my associates. I would LOVE to go to a big university and play division 1 sports, but I'm content to stay at a local college and just play and do what I love.
In short, all I want to do is play soccer and be happy. It doesn't matter where I'm playing, what level I'm playing at, or who I'm playing with as long as I come home with fresh grass stains and smelling like a soccer field.
