“Remember the name” a song by Fort Minor has always been my number one “pump up” song. This song emphasizes that it isn’t easy getting to the top and hard work is the key to success. The lyric: “…this is 10 percent luck, 20 percent skill, 15 percent concentrated power of will, 5 percent pleasure, 50 percent pain…” is my favorite part of the song. The message that Fort Minor is trying to convey is that path to success is not always going to be smooth sailing, but if you want to achieve greatness, you’ll need determination. With this said, whenever I step on to that soccer field I know how hard it has been to get to where I am now, so why waste it? I will play every game like it’s my last and leave it out all on the field no matter how painful or how tired I am. Soccer is a team sport, and we as a team, are only as good as our last game or our weakest player. So to get to the top, as a team, practices will be brutal, practices will be hard , and practices will determine how badly we really want to win as a team. This song lyric also fits into my personality: I like to earn everything I receive. There are kids who get brand new Mercedes at 17years old, why? They haven’t “worked” a day in their life; they haven’t gone through the pain and hard work their parents had to go through to be able to afford that type of car.  All in all, you need to experience failure to be able to find yourself, build yourself back up, and become a stronger person than you were yesterday.
