Jaya Ramirez '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jaya Ramirez and I would like to introduce myself! I am seventeen years old and a Senior at Horizon High School in Thornton, Colorado.  I believe that hard work and energy is caught, so I make it my mission to always be positive and work my hardest to push my friends and teammates. I play defense, but recently made the switch to center striker. As a freshman, I originally made the JV team, but less than two weeks later, I was promoted to play Varsity, and became a starter. I was voted by my coach and teammates as Defensive player of the year and received my first year letter. I made Varsity sophomore year and this year started center back. My club team is ranked super league, the highest team at a competitive level in our area. The past three years we have competed in State Cup in Colorado. When I first came to the team, I played center back, but this past season my coach moved me to forward for my foot skills and speed. It has been a tough transition, but I pushed myself and became the top scorer on my team. I am a hard worker and work well with others. I try hard to be the best I can and also lift up others around me. I would like to pursue a career in Forensic Science, and I am able to balance school and sports to accomplish my goals. I am interested in forensics because I have a passion for helping people. As a Christian girl, I feel strongly about giving back and helping others, which is why I am pursuing this career.
