For me soccer is a passion, and a release from the stress and chaos of life, where I can step on the field with a group of people I depend on and work toward success as a team. The euphoria of winning, the bonding from loss, I love it, and I want to continue on playing soccer in college.
I’ve played club soccer since 7th grade, and I’ve been playing soccer since I was 5; and I’ve been on Varsity at my high school for three years as starting outside defender. I’m left foot dominant, but my ambidexterity means I have a good right and I’m comfortable on both sides of the field. Though my favorite position is outside left defender, I’m comfortable playing any outside position including outside mid and forward, as well as center defender. I’m fast, and being 5’8” at 140 pounds gives me an advantage in the air and when fighting for the ball.
Though soccer is extremely important, for me academics comes first. I carry an overall 4.43 GPA and on the A.P. tests I’ve taken (World History, U.S. History, and Calculus AB) I’ve earned 5’s. For my senior year I will be taking 6 AP classes, all AP except art, in which I am taking Graphics 3, and continuing with varsity and club soccer. I really love international politics and interaction with foreign countries and so I will major in international relations/political science, and if possible couple that with either Arabic or Mandarin. I generally prefer smaller schools, and since I want to be near the hub of politics I’m looking at schools preferably on the East Coast or near a major hub on international relations.
