Hi my name is Julia Turino and I am currently entering as a senior at Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale, Arizona.
I have been drawn into the beautiful game since the age of four. I work hard at practices, games, and most importantly at home on my time off. I am the epitome of "Hey, what are you doing today?", "Sorry, I was at soccer." as everyone knows. I have played competitively on a team since the age of 8 and each year advance onto higher levels. I have always been one of, if not the youngest on the team, forcing to push myself to higher and greater levels as the competition bars raised. I have been asked to play as a guest player on teams ranging from Kansas, to a club with girls 5 years older than myself, to all men teams, to a team from Canada that have recently won the Disney Cup, and so forth. I always strive to push myself to be the best player on the field and along with my team.
Not only am I a player, but I also ref, coach, and volunteer my time to helping others succeed and developing their skills. In 2011, I received my reffing license which I have used to ref from U8 all the way to U19 (I have now advanced and received my intermediate license as well). Starting from 2012, I have assisted and coached teams from U4, U6, U8, U10, U12, and U14 to running full on soccer clinics for U6 to U12. I have also recently been hired at the ASC Indoor Sports Complex as a soccer coach. On top of all of this, volunteering consumes most of my time next to playing. Since 2010, I have volunteered with the soccer team for adults with special needs, and in the past two years I have taken over as one of the head coaches of the program as well. 95% of everything I have done soccer-wise (outside of playing) has been non-profit, volunteer work. I've spent as vast majority of my life surrounding myself in as much soccer as possible to try and elevate my game and knowledge of soccer to the highest level possible. With academics, I have always been in advanced placements, pushing me to thrive and extend my mental capacity to the furthest of my abilities. For the past 4 years I have been chosen as team captain and view myself as a leader both on and off the field.
I know that my dedication and pure passion would make me an asset on your team.
