Spring season of sophomore year I grew substantially even though I did not have a boat. By working closely with the coaches at daily practices and at regattas, I gained insights not only by listening to their perspectives and critiques, but also by their responses to my own observations. Communicating with my coaches further strengthened my confidence in reading a situation and setting strategy the following year. In Fall 2015 our coaches selected me, over six senior coxswains, to lead our women’s varsity 8 and junior varsity 8. While I have competed at Nationals and have led my crew to place amongst the top three in various regattas, it was this experience working collaboratively in the launch with my coaches that truly differentiated and strengthened my skills.
I am looking for a program that will be a strong fit both academically and athletically. I have the work ethic, determination and leadership skills to cox at the collegiate level. Further, I have the passion and commitment to excel academically while making a positive impact to the team!
