My name is Alexa Murray and I live south of Nashville in Thompson’s Station, TN. I am 5’8” and 140 lbs. and played varsity lacrosse for Independence High School as a club sport in my freshman, sophomore and junior years. I have played other sports and consider myself a competitive athlete and found a love for lacrosse in my freshman year of high school. Through my dedication to attending all team practices, practicing at home and conditioning, breakaway speed, as well as assisting and scoring in games, and playing midfield attack and defense, I was awarded the Rookie of the Year. That summer, I attended Vanderbilt Elite camp in Nashville where I got to play with some of the players on the Vanderbilt team, talked to their coaches about playing in college, and practiced and competed from sun up to sun down on skills and techniques. My sophomore year I was a starting Center and was effective controlling the draw the entire game without substitution. I was awarded Most Improved Player and received a varsity letter. This past year 2012, my junior year, I was honored to be voted Captain by my team. As a senior this year 2013, I play at Centennial High School where my new school voted me Captain. I plan to major in Psychology and am currently maintaining a 3.3 GPA. My options are open as to where I wish to attend college.
